Here’s the official breakdown:
(November 14, 2011) – The Mirage recently unveiled an exciting beverage program featuring 30 intriguing cocktails. Careful thought went into each distinctive new drink resulting in stimulating flavor combinations, remarkable twists on old favorites and inventive garnishes which add striking detail to each libation.
Four signature drinks are served at Fin, Onda Ristorante, kokomo’s, Samba, the High Limit Lounge, The Villas at The Mirage and the Sports Bar, along with six additional cocktails being served at select bars and lounges. “The new cocktails featured at our restaurants were created using spirits and ingredients that best represent and complement the cuisine,” said Julian Griffiths, vice president of Food & Beverage for The Mirage. “The drinks we serve at the High Limit Lounge and Sports Bar were designed specifically with our clientele in mind.” Director of Beverage Peter Brattander, the mastermind behind the new program, used the restaurants, guests and resort as his inspiration. “My team and I have put a lot of thought into these drinks as we specifically crafted them with The Mirage guest in mind. The spin we put on classic cocktails will allow them to venture into new territory, providing an unparalleled cocktail experience worthy of pleasing even the most discerning palate.”
The new beverage offerings are:
Traditionally, Batidas are prepared by combining tropical fruits with cachaça, a potent sugarcane liquor from Brazil. Samba now is offering a savory twist on this fruity concoction with the Cucumber Batida. Leblon Cachaca, Thatchers Organic Cucumber and cucumber slices are blended to frothy perfection then served with a slender cucumber dill fruit chip creating the perfect accompaniment to Samba’s robust cuisine. Those with a yen for a sweeter taste can try the Caipirinha Ultimo, the Pisco Passion or the Pineapple Mojito.
Italian-style cocktails are modernized with fresh bursts of flavors from the old world at Onda Ristorante. The highlight of the Roman Holiday is Onda’s authentic house-made limoncello, a popular Italian lemon liqueur. It’s mixed with Grey Goose La Poire Vodka and orange juice then topped with an intriguing pear ginger fruit chip. Also available is the Aperitivo, Como Cocktail and the Black Raspberry Bellini.
At the contemporary Chinese restaurant FIN, traditional Asian flavors are complemented by specially chosen fruits and spirits. The Zen Mojito utilizes the flavor of the exotic dragon fruit by combining Bacardi Dragon Berry Rum and fresh seasonal berries. The concoction is garnished with a dehydrated dragon fruit chip, adding an unexpected textural crunch. Guests also can try The Fin Lychee Martini, Oriental Mirage or the Golden Lotus.
Classic cocktails have been thoughtfully updated at kokomo’s, a restaurant known for its prime steaks, chops and seafood. The margarita is given a playful jolt of fresh watermelon puree and Marie Brizard Watermelon Liqueur in the Watermelon Rita. The Tom Collins gets a new face with a dash of agave nectar and Canton Ginger Liqueur making it the Gin-ger Collins. Visitors can try other twists on familiar libations including the Orange Drop, and Johnny Apple Seed.
