Paris Hilton

Biography

Paris Hilton (born February 17, 1981 is an American socialite, heiress, media personality, model, singer, author, fashion designer and actress. She is a great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton (the founder of Hilton Hotels). Hilton first made headlines for her participation in a notorious sex tape in 2003, and her subsequent appearance on the television series The Simple Life alongside fellow socialite and childhood best friend Nicole Richie. She was (and is) a target of the paparazzi, and the tabloids in-directly helped boost her career by keeping her in the constant-public eye. In 2004 she released a tongue-in-cheek autobiography, and she’s had several minor film roles (most notably her role in the horror film House of Wax in 2005). In 2006 she released her debut album Paris, and her modeling work has also taken her around the globe. Hilton is perhaps currently most known for starring in a number of her own produced reality series Paris Hilton’s My New BFF. While she is an example of the modern phenomenon of the ‘celebutante’, Hilton’s proved to be shrewd in her business dealings over the years, and she’s made several lucrative deals with television networks for her self-produced shows. She makes Las Vegas a regular stop in her appearances, and is a regular at many high-profile events in town.
