Aria Resort & Casino

One of the more modern hotels in Las Vegas, Aria Resort & Casino is a five-star Las Vegas luxury hotel, skyscraper, and central feature to the Las Vegas City Center. Designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, this 60-story, two curvilinear glass towers house some 4,004 rooms (including 568 suites) totaling 4,000,000 sq ft. At its base is a 150,000 sq ft casino floor and a three-story lobby that uses natural materials including lush foliage, flowers, glass, wood, and stone. It’s the largest hotel in the world to earn a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, which is an achievement in itself.

Aria opened on December 16, 2009, and it’s name comes from the opera-related term aria, which indicates an “an elaborate song for solo voice.” Cirque Du Soleil established a long-running residency at Aria Resort with an exclusive production Viva ELVIS, which is a unique fusion of dance, acrobatics and live music devoted to the life and music of Elvis Presley.

Within the reception area, the artist Maya Lin created an approximately 133 ft silver cast of the Colorado River. Lin incorporated reclaimed silver in her recreation “in the spirit of CityCenter’s commitment to sustainability and in light of Nevada’s standing as the Silver State.”

Aria features a collection of fine chefs and a variety of top-notch dining options, with over 16 restaurants to choose from. Masayoshi Takayama runs his Japanese-style Bar Masa & Shaboo. Chef Michael Mina expands his influence in Las Vegas with the seafood-gem American Fish. If that weren’t enough, Jean Philippe Maury opened up a second Jean Philippe Pâtisserie here as well. With 5 star dining, great nightlife (including the clubs HAZE, Gold Boutique & The Deuce Lounge), Aria Resort & Casino has a lot to offer their guests. Be sure not to miss the amazing Spa at Aria, and if you’re looking to get some great shopping in, Crystals is right next door.
